Indoor arena

An indoor arena for year-round practice

Our obstacle course is set up inside the indoor arena, so event days are not rained out and you are not riding in summer heat or winter wind. That makes it a dependable place to build horse confidence building obstacles into your regular schedule, whatever the forecast says.

Our indoor horse obstacle course is a practical way to work on a horse trail training course mindset when the weather keeps you off the trail.

Flags

Learn to stay relaxed around flapping and waving fabric.

Bridges

Practice careful footing and trusting your rider on a hollow-sounding surface.

Soft, wobbly and unfamiliar: a gentle first step in desensitization.

Noise obstacles

Rattles, clatter and other sounds, introduced at a pace the horse can handle.

Gates

Open, pass through and close gates from the saddle or on the ground.

Tight spaces

Build body awareness and patience in narrow passages and corners.

Stop-and-go challenges

Sharpen your transitions and your horse's attention to your cues.

Common questions

Yes. Riders of all experience levels are welcome. You choose which obstacles to try and how fast to go, and you can lead your horse on the ground if you would rather not ride. If you are new to obstacle work, start with the easiest obstacles and build up as your animal stays relaxed.

Both are fine. Many people lead first to introduce an obstacle from the ground, then ride it. Others stay mounted the whole time. Do whatever feels safest for you and your animal.

Yes. Mules and donkeys are welcome, along with gaited horses, ranch horses, trail horses and jumper horses. Mules often like to study an obstacle before committing, and you are welcome to give yours that time.

We ask for a current negative Coggins test and, if you have one, a health certificate for each animal. You can upload them when you register (PDF, JPG or PNG).

Yes. On the registration form, tick the box saying you will bring documents on arrival. Please remember to bring the paperwork for every animal that day.

Each riding block is limited to six animals to keep the arena uncrowded. We ask all participants to follow staff instructions, keep a safe distance from other animals, wear sturdy closed-toe footwear, and let us know in advance if your animal kicks or bites. We strongly recommend riders wear an approved helmet.
